AP Psychology, sociology and leadership teacher Amy Buckingham turns on the LED lights in her classroom at the beginning of her seventh period sociology class on Feb. 27. For me, the value comes in not only expressing my own interests, but opening doors to connect with my students and creating a space in which they all feel comfortable, which opens a door in a more thoughtful student discourse, Buckingham said.
