Jenny Brailovsky balances athletics, arts, leadership

Students may know senior Jenny Brailovsky as a spirited leader on the sidelines or a determined athlete on the field. Beyond the visible roles she plays, Brailovsky has built a reputation as one of the most dedicated and well-rounded students in the school community.

In the fall, Brailovsky serves as captain of the cheer team, where she leads her teammates through practices, competitions and a full schedule of football games. From Friday night lights at home to long away game bus rides, the role requires both energy and time. Despite the demanding schedule, she remains a constant source of enthusiasm, motivating her team while representing the school with pride.

When it comes to winter, Brailovsky has been a captain of the cheer squad since sophomore year, although she chose not to participate this year, allowing her to focus her time on other commitments. “Cheer has taught me a huge lesson in life, if you’re positive, others will be too. I always love to hype people up and it makes me happy to see the fans join in on the cheers,” Brailovsky said.

When spring arrives, Brailovsky transitions from the sidelines to the field as a key member of the varsity lacrosse team. After spending her freshman year on junior varsity, she quickly proved herself and earned a varsity spot as a sophomore. Since then, she has become an essential defensive player, known not only for her skill but also for her leadership. On the field she is passionate and encouraging, always willing to help others improve and grow. Her presence on defense brings both intensity and support, making her a valuable part of the team’s success. “When I was offered a position on varsity as a sophomore my coach said to me ‘you might not get a lot of playing time, but we love your energy’, because of this I worked so hard to put my energy to use and improve as a player, allowing me to become a starter later in the season,” Brailovsky said.

This spring, Brailovsky added another challenge to her already packed schedule, participating in the school’s production of “Hairspray.” With rehearsals often scheduled at the same time as lacrosse practices, she faces a daily decision about where she is needed most. On game days, her commitment is especially evident, she attends play rehearsal immediately after school, then heads straight to her lacrosse game, where she competes with full energy and focus. Managing both activities requires careful time management and a strong sense of responsibility, qualities that Brailovsky consistently demonstrates. “Balancing the play and lacrosse has been a bit challenging but I figured out a good schedule for it,” Brailovsky said.

Her dedication extends beyond extracurriculars. During the school day, Brailovsky maintains strong academics while serving as SGA Historian. Whether she is leading cheers, defending on the lacrosse field or promoting school spirit, Brailovsky approached every role with positivity and determination.

After graduation, Brailovsky plans to attend Florida State University, where she will study business management. With her drive, leadership skills and enthusiasm, there is little doubt that she will continue to succeed in whatever path she chooses.
