What stands out about the phone is its performance upgrades. It will feature a more powerful new chip, the A20, that will make the phone more efficient than ever before. According to Mashable.com, Apple will also expand Siri’s capabilities, allowing it to summarize texts and search messages. “Even if they don’t change the design much, they are still making good upgrades to the performance of the phone,” junior Cole Morton said.
While this is a rumor and not yet confirmed by Apple, the iPhone 18 may come in three models, the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the iPhone 18 Fold. The Fold looks quite similar to a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. According to Forbes, the iPhone 18 Fold opens up horizontally and is said to resemble an iPad mini lying sideways.
According to TechRadar, between the iPhone 17 and 18, there will be a 50% increase in RAM, which is fast temporary storage that is used to hold running apps and data. This is mainly due to the demands of on-device Apple Intelligence, which is built around the idea of efficient and easy multitasking. “I use my phone together with my computer to get things done a lot faster, so a phone made for that with higher RAM would be really helpful,” junior Peace Tiam said.
The iPhone 18 will come in more vibrant color options than the traditional black or white.
