While students typically watch TV shows and listen to music, another favorite form of entertainment is podcasts. Podcasts give you the best of both worlds: you get to listen to people talking but you don’t have to watch. There are podcasts of all different genres: science fiction, crime, drama, comedies, sports and more.

One top-rated podcast for teens is the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce. Travis is an NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs and Jason is a player for the Philadelphia Eagles. In this podcast, the brothers talk about everything going on in the NFL such as games, training camps, wives of NFL players, and more. People enjoy this podcast because it is cool to see behind the scenes what is going on in the NFL. Sometimes, they have interesting guests on the podcast to give the show a spin. “The Kelce brothers are really funny and interesting to listen to,” sophomore Cryus Kaz said.

Another top-rated podcast is the new Hot Mess with Alix Earle; this podcast began on Sept. 21 when the first episode aired. Earle is a new big influencer, and people are interested in her life because she is real and transparent compared to other influencers. So far she has talked about her love life, college experience and overcoming mental illness. Teens and young adults relate to her and enjoy listening to her podcast. “Alix Earle has a lot to say about many things and listening to her talk about different topics is exciting,” sophomore Samantha Karcz said.

Another popular podcast is Crime Junkies. The podcast is run by Ashley Flowers. She has guests on the show and they talk about murders, missing people and wanted criminals. Every week she has a new crime to talk about and she makes it casual so people will want to listen to it.

Skinny Confidential is another fan favorite. The podcast is run by Lauryn Evarts Bosstick. The podcast has over 200 million downloads. She calls the podcast an education podcast because her goal is to teach listeners about their media empire, wellness, beauty to business and real-life tips.

Let’s Be Honest is a fun, fascinating podcast run by Kristin Cavallari. This is her second podcast after her “Back to the Beach” podcast with Stephen Colletti, her co-star on Laguna Beach. In Let’s Be Honest, Cavallari talks about different topics. Every Tuesday a new episode comes out about relationships, family, parenting, dating, wellness, career, food, fitness and spirituality. She brings along cool guests such as Travis Kelce (New Heights Podcast), Stassi Schroeder, Tanya Rad and Nikki Glaser.

A favorite of students, especially the football-loving ones, is the “The Fantasy Footballers.” This podcast is run by Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright. This podcast talks about events going on in the NFL: players who are playing well and players who are playing badly and breakdowns of games. Before the season begins they talk about the best picks for the fantasy football draft. “Fantasy Footballers is a good podcast to listen to if you miss out or want to hear about highlights of NFL games,” junior Shayan Kurup said.
