New Chopt Creative Salad Bar Co. opens in Kentlands Market Square
On Jan. 19 Chopt, a creative salad company that has been in business for over 18 years opened in Kentlands Market Square.
Chopt is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. The restaurant is located next to MOD pizza on Commerce Square.
Customers are able to dine-in, take out or group order when visiting Chopt. Customers can also order via the Chopt app, setting up a pick up time or online at their website www.choptsalad.com.
When visiting the Chopt website, you are able to view the menu, locations, catering options, nutritional information and allergy information, and order. According to their website, “Salad isn’t the start of the meal, it’s the whole meal.”
Online, the website reveals the options customers have for their salads including: destination salads, salads and bowls, customer crafts, to go dressing, snacks, drinks, gift cards and catering. Once you have selected what type of bowl you would like, you can continue to customize it with your preferences.
On Yelp, Chopt employees reveal they go to crazy lengths to create the most flavorful salads imaginable. “We travel near and far to pair the highest quality local ingredients with the most craveable recipes we find around the globe,” a Chopt employee said.
They are on a mission to get the public to crave salad. “Why? Because salads are awesome,” a Chop’t employee said.
Chopt offers vegetarian and vegan options including their vegetarian, fan time favorite, the Santa Fe or their grain-based Chicken Tinga. “Every salad at Chopt is built to offer you the crunchiest crunch, the tastiest choppings and the most flavorful greens,” a Chopt employee said.
The restaurant includes healthy dressings that are gluten-free and housemade in small-batches daily and include a range of vegan, light, spicy and bold flavors. “Come join us for lunch, dinner, or any time in between – you’re guaranteed to get a bowl of stuff you like,” a Chopt employee said.
Junior Katie Bowman goes to Chopt at least once a week. “I love getting the kale Caesar salad, it’s my go-to,” Bowman said.
Bowman said she enjoys going with her friends. “I am so glad they opened a Chopt close by because now it’s so close and convenient,” Bowman said.
On Google Reviews, Chopt has 4.1 stars out of 5 stars. “[I] love that Chopt is back in the Gaithersburg area,” one customer said.
Customers enjoy the convenience of ordering online and setting their pick-up time, skipping the long line of people during the lunch rush to quickly grab their waiting salad off the shelf. A customer on Google Reviews described Chopt as “yummy, healthy and convenient.”
Customers online commonly share their Chopt orders and recommend them. Another customer shared their Chopt orders and said “we had the Sesame Ginger Crunch Salad that consisted of romaine, cabbage and cilantro blend tossed with grilled chicken, rainbow carrots, broccoli, pickled red onions, crispy wontons, and crispy shallots tossed in a sesame ginger dressing.”
However, customers also take the time to explain what they like and dislike about their meal. “I was surprised the broccoli wasn’t florets. I liked how the ingredients were fresh, how they asked how much salad dressing I wanted, and how they offered bread with every order. However, I didn’t like the taste of the grilled chicken in the Sesame Ginger Crunch Salad,” a customer said on Google Reviews.
Junior Sofie Vinick shared her love for Chopt and how the new location is extremely convenient. “I am so happy they opened a Chopt close by. I am excited to go all the time with friends and family,” Vinick said.
