Popular punishments for fantasy football include 24-Hours at I-HOP, The Cage, Milk Mile, and Shaved Head.

Fantasy football is a game where participants pose as owners and managers of their own professional football teams. Competitors join a league and select their rosters through a draft where all relevant National Football League players are available. Once teams are picked, during each week of the National Football League’s season, teams are matched against one another and for every yard, touchdown or catch they make, players are given points. After the week is over, the team with the most points wins and they play a new team the next week.

At the end of the season, there is a tournament where the winner typically receives a cash prize and the loser receives a punishment. These punishments can be quite gruesome, which is why fantasy players take the game seriously and will do anything not to be last. Let’s take a look at some of the worst punishments this year.

The first punishment we will be looking at is called The Cage. This is where the loser of the league is placed in a dog cage for a specific amount of time. Once that time is up the loser is able to get out. But that is not all. During the time that the loser is in the cage the other members of the league are able to throw whatever items they want at them. These items can range from mild items such as eggs to disgusting ones such as rotten milk, demonstrating why this punishment is at the top of the list. “Since I lost my fantasy league this year I have to go in the cage. I have not done it yet but from what I have seen on TikTok has made me quite scared for what I will have to go through,” senior Ethan Kuan said.

The second punishment on the list is the Milk Mile. This punishment has variations, but typically, it consists of the loser drinking one cup of milk before each lap around the track. The contestant must finish their milk before they start each lap and must complete the mile within a specific time. If the loser does not finish their milk or complete the mile they must do it again. This fact mixed with an upset stomach serves as to why this punishment is second on this list. “It was rough. Running a mile sucks, but drinking milk before each lap made it 10 times worse. The milk sloshing around my stomach made me feel like I was going to vomit the whole time,” senior Abraham Labban said.

The third and final punishment on this list is the I-HOP challenge. This punishment involves the loser sitting in an I-HOP for 24 hours. Contestants are allowed to reduce that time by eating pancakes with each one taking an hour off of their timer. This may seem easy but once the loser has eaten 12 pancakes, it becomes quite difficult. “Last year I had to sit in I-HOP for 24 hours and it was terrible. I sat there for 12 hours and ate 12 pancakes. At first, I thought it was going to be easy, but it was the opposite. I feel bad for anyone who has to do this challenge,” junior Daniel Son said.
