Levains bakery open in Georgetown, delighting cookie lovers
Imagine breaking open a fresh chocolate chip cookie and seeing the chocolate chips melt right in front of your face. The new bakery Levains in Georgetown has achieved this.
Some have been daring enough to wait in the mile-long lines that start at the bakery’s blue doors. Although having other locations in New York, the bakery brought their cookie justice to the local area. Wanting to see if it lives up to the hype, cookie lovers have recently visited Levinas.
Senior Riya Kohli took the 30-minute drive to Georgetown in search of the cookies. After finding the store, Kohli waited in the long line to try the famous cookies. She ordered a chocolate chip cookie with walnuts and a plain chocolate chip cookie. They are made fresh and warmed upon buying them in-store. Kohli said that opening the cookie was an exciting experience and she could see what the true hype over the cookies is all about. “I never thought that such a cookie would taste so good. I would definitely recommend this place and am already planning to go again this week,” Kohli said.
Another adventurous eater is junior Reza Abediyeh. Abediyeh drove down to Georgetown with some friends to get some food. Although he was not going for the intention of getting these cookies, he was glad he did. Abediyeh heard about the bakery and decided that he and his friends had to try them for themselves.
Abediyeh got the dark chocolate peanut butter chip cookie. Just saying the words to the worker made him excited. After receiving the cookie he said that there was no time to wait. Content with his purchase, he loved the flavor that the cookie had and lasted in his mouth. Although he said it was very sweet, he “definitely would go back and try more,” Abediyeh said.
Although the trip can be far for some, it is worth it. They also have accommodations around allergies and can make special requests when the food is being prepared. They also have loaves of bread, cinnamon rolls, tea, coffee, and much more.
