JV baseball is looking to make another run after having a historic 10-2 season last year.
The boys beat Whitman, QO, and Churchill last year; they hope to repeat this year. “We beat all of the good teams we knew we needed to beat. It will be hard this year with all of the losses, but we should be able to do it,” sophomore first basemen George Misovec said.
The team is losing key starters from last year including sophomore middle infielder Nathan Bowman and junior Andrew Misovec, junior catcher Will Karis, sophomore outfielders Miller Romm and junior Brett Olsen, junior pitchers Max Levine and Jacob Glazier, and junior catcher Freddie Rodgers, who will all be on varsity this year.
The incoming freshman class has a couple strong players, shortstop/pitcher Brady Weiss, catcher/outfielder Ryan Binder and catcher James Walsh.
Sophomore Kevin Friedman suffered a concussion after getting drilled in the head by a line drive and will be out another one to two weeks. “It was tough getting injured this early in the season, but it should be a decently short recovery and I cannot wait to get back on the field,” Friedman said.
