The JV boys’ lacrosse team is looking ahead and hoping for a successful season.
They recently added multiple players including freshmen Nate Jacobs, Reza Abediyeh, Ian Smith, Ethan Cohen, Ian Repie, Bradley Lutz, Justin Linn, Ethan Stoller and Michael Siebert. The team also acquired sophomores Kyler Hamlin and Jack Grange. The freshmen will be taking over the roles of juniors Ben Bloch (attack), T.J. Douglas (attack) and Preston Butler (mid-field). Jacobs said, This is my first year playing lacrosse and I’m excited for the season to start. I think we are going to have a good year this year.”
Despite losing players, the Patriots are returning sophomores Ariz Glazier, Martin Rodriguez, Jack Brinksman and Michael Gordon. Gordon said, “We added a lot of new players this year. The returners are looking forward to working with the new kids and winning a lot of games this season.”
The Patriots played their first scrimmage against private school Loudoun Valley. They fell short, losing 9-7, but played well for their first scrimmage. Gordon, Glazier and Smith were among the players who scored. Their next scrimmage was on Mar. 19. Glazier said, “Even though we fell short we played well and worked together. It was a good first scrimmage and we are looking forward to the next one.”
The Patriots are led by head coach Ben Lee. This is his second year coaching and he led the JV team to a 4-5 record last year. He is looking forward to leading the freshmen-filled team to a winning record this year.
