Camryn Eats: MOD Pizza

No matter what situation you’re in, whether you want a quick bite to eat or a meal to feed a number of crazy football fans on a Monday night, pizza is always the way to go. It’s quick, easy to eat and let’s be real, who doesn’t love pizza?

Recently, a new pizza parlor opened just minutes down the road and has become a popular spot for students to hang out and enjoy delicious pizza.

MOD pizza has two locations, one in Rockville and one in Gaithersburg. The inside gives off a diner-like vibe with comfortable booths as well as outdoor seating with lights strung around the premises creating a MODern aesthetic.

The location of the restaurant is convenient and easily accessible. The Kentlands shopping center is only about 15 minutes away and has plenty of other stores and activities. MOD pizza is located in front of Berries and Bowls and is a perfect spot to sit outside with friends and take in the cool fall air while enjoying a hot, freshly made pizza.

Diners have the option to choose from a wide selection of signature pizzas, or the freedom of customizing their own. From a classic cheese pizza, to a create-your-own salad on a pizza pizza, they got it all. MOD pizza also offers three different sizes and crust, 11”, 6” and an 11” thick crust pizza. Aside from pizza, they also sell breadsticks, cheesesticks, cinnamon sticks, salads, milkshakes and dessert. If you’re not in the mood for pizza, no worries.

After your pizza comes out of the oven, MOD pizza offers a variety of sauces and dressings. I was fascinated to see how many different types of sauces you could use to eat with pizza. They make a simple dish into something a little more exciting and unique.

A few days ago I went to dinner with my sister and ordered the Caspian, which is their signature BBQ chicken pizza, and my sister ordered the Maddy, which is their signature cheese pizza. The pizza was one of the best BBQ chicken pizzas I have had in this area, and one of the most delightful, classic cheese pizzas as well.

I found MOD pizza to be affordable and inexpensive for the quality. The 6” was a little more than $6, the 11” is a little above $8 and the 11” thick crust is around $10.

I recommend MOD pizza to all pizza lovers. With service and quality in mind, I give it a solid 5 stars and would be down to go back for more delicious pizza.
