10 last minute holiday gifts from newspaper staff
With holidays just around the corner, people are scrambling to find the perfect last minute gift. To make the process less stressful, the newspaper staff has gathered a list of top 10 holiday suggestions.
Care Packages. “I feel like care packages are a really great and personal gift. You can build one up at CVS or Bath & Body Works; it’s a one stop shop and someone will really appreciate it,” senior and staff writer Margarita Williams said.
Perfume. “I think perfumes are a really good last minute gift. Sephora has sets of trial sized cheap perfumes so it’s perfect,” senior and back page editor Jelissa Ngako said. Perfume sample packs are typically $15-$20s.
Candy. “You can never go wrong with candy because everyone likes candy and it’s easy to get last minute at a drugstore,” senior and features editor Vivian Pisani said. Candy packs typically cost between $5-15 if from a drugstore, where pricer candy can cost $30 and up.
Airpods. “They’re very useful and going off to college they are essential,” senior and staff writer Evan Lewis said. Airpods 2nd Gen sell for $129, Airpods 3rd Generation sell for $169, Airpod Pros list for $249, and Airpods Max list for $529.
Fuzzy Socks. “I think fuzzy socks are a great last minute gift to give people because they are really good for the winter and the cold weather,” senior and features editor Sasha Sampaio said. Fuzzy socks typically range from $5-$20 for a pack.
Gift Cards. “Gift cards are always easy. You can get them from so many places and it’s so customizable to someone’s personality,” said Junior and opinion editor Ellie Mollica said. Gift cards can typically be any price starting at $15.
Sports Jersey. “I think a sports jersey is a great last minute holiday gift that you can get from Dicks” senior and sports editor Jake Konigsberg said. Sports Jerseys have a wide range in cost, typically starting around $80, and going up to $200.
Shoes. “It’s perfect because it’s personalized and for each person’s style, you can get it from Footlocker, Finish Line or Dicks” senior and senior sports editor Ryan McGraw said. Shoes typically cost $100, give or take.
Mugs. “Mugs are a good quick holiday gift because they are useful and there are some really nice looking ones,” junior and news editor Maria Daraselia said. Mugs typically cost $10-$15.
Crystals. “Crystals often have meaning attached to them so they can be personalized to whoever you’re giving them to. You can get them online or at Goodluck in Montgomery Mall,” senior and opinion editor Isaac Muffett said. Crystals typically cost $5-$10.
