Drake and 21 Savage release new album Her Loss
Canadian rapper Drake and Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage released a collaborative album, “Her Loss,” on Friday, Nov. 4, including 16 songs and featuring a sole guest appearance from Travis Scott.
The collaborative album was delayed after the producer Noah “40” Shebib contracted COVID-19 while mixing and mastering the album. The album was released one week late.
The album was released through OVO Sound, Republic Records, Slaughter Gang Entertainment, and Epic Records. Her Loss debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
The two rappers announced their joint project on Oct. 22. They also released a music video for their collaborative track “Jimmy Cooks,” which appears on Drake’s most recent solo album, Honestly, Nevermind.
Drake and 21 Savage have worked together multiple times in recent years. 21 Savage appeared on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy track “Knife Talk,” while Drake guested on “Mr. Right Now,” from 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s Savage Mode II.
“Honestly, Nevermind” became Drake’s 11th number 1 album on the Billboard 200 albums chart, moving 204,000 equivalent album units in its first week. The achievement made Drake the fifth artist to release more than 10 number 1 albums. While 21 Savage’s last studio album as a solo artist was 2018’s I Am > I Was then Savage Mode II in 2020.

Senior Felipe Lemgru thought this album was a classic. “I like 21 Savage and Drake so when they collabed on an album I was hype because all their music is straight fire,” Lemgru said.
Lemgru can not stop listening to the album. “There is not a single bad song on the album, they’re all so good,” Lemgru said.
Senior Adriana Cruz loved the album. “Both Drake and 21 compliment each other well but then again Drake goes well with everyone and I love all of his songs,” Cruz said.
Junior Evan Yi thought the album was good but he believes there are some songs that could have been better. “I like that the songs are similar to Drake’s old music rather than his recent music,” Yi said.
Cruz referred to the album as album of the year and hopes there is a tour soon. “My favorite song on the album is Rich Flex, I would die if I saw it in concert,” Cruz said.
