The JV field hockey team has continued their hot play, rallying off three straight victories to give themselves an undefeated 5-0 record on the season. The team won tight games against Walter Johnson and Richard Montgomery before blowing out Einstein.
The team took on the Walter Johnson Wildcats at home on Sept. 16 and the Wildcats fought hard and gave them one of their toughest tests of the season. The team came out on top 1-0. They used strong defense to earn a shutout and seal the victory. The lone goal came from sophomore Carli Mangum.
Coming off the win, the team took on county foe Richard Montgomery at home on Sept. 19. Facing one of their more challenging opponents, the Patriots had to bring their A-game. That they did as they outplayed the Rockets for the entire game with the final outcome being a 2-0 victory. The team was lead by goals from sophomore Aneesha Sampath and Mangum.
Looking to continue their undefeated season and try and get to 5-0, the team traveled to Einstein on Sept. 21. After facing two tough opponents, Einstein didn’t pose the same threat that WJ and RM did and the team cruised to a 10-0 victory dominating Einstein from start to finish. The team had lots of fun as multiple players got in on the scoring. Sophomores Caity Greenspun, Margaret Christovich, Mangum, Jordan Rubin and freshman Kendall Clark all contributed.
The team will look to remain undefeated when they travel to take on the Churchill Bulldogs on Sept. 28, too late to be covered in this issue.
