Fans of the wizarding world are patiently awaiting the return of Hogwarts. Harry Potter is returning in 2022 on HBO max with “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.”
After years of waiting, fans are now going to get a reunion of the famous Harry Potter series. The reunion is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the filming of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The reunion will be released Jan.1, 2022.
A teaser trailer has already been released, exciting fans and allowing for more anticipation. This trailer was released on Dec. 5. Sophomore Lily King has high hopes for the reunion. “Watching the teaser trailer gave me nostalgia for when I first read the books and watched the movies. It is so exciting that we will see it again, I can’t wait,” King said.
The reunion will include original cast members Daniel Radcliff, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. It also includes producer David Heyman and filmmakers Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuarón and more.
Harry Potter fanatic and senior Charlotte Christovich can’t wait for this reunion. “I have been such a big fan of Harry Potter since I was little, and can’t wait to see some of the original cast back in that setting,” Christovich said.
Comingsoon.net has given details of the reunion. “Return to Hogwarts will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time,” Comingsoon.net said.
The reunion might also include recreations of some of the iconic scenes, including the use of the original sets, which are still in place today. Senior Allie Gritz is hopeful to return to Hogwarts. “I hope the reunion does go back to some of the famous scenes like Yule Ball, which is one of my favorites,” Gritz said.
Harry Potter was originally filmed at Warner Bros. Studios London, back in 2001. The first movie was released Nov. 8, 2001. The reunion was filmed back at Warner Bros. in London around November.
This reunion is not only celebrating the success of the movie franchise, but the impact it has had on people all over the world. This phenomenon would not have become so known if not for the fandom created. The passion from fans enabled it to become so popular that two decades later, people are still rewatching the movies, rereading the books and even taking tests to find out what house they would be in, or what character they are most like. Fans are counting down the days until they can return to Hogwarts.
